Power Settlements is growing! We have hired several additional software developers this year and now have software development and customer support working out of our new office in the Houston Galleria region. This new office allows us to be located closer to our customers, and will enable us to continue our expansion effort into additional ISOs/RTOs.

Today, Power Settlements introduced its newest module, the SettleCore – Business Intelligence and Analytics Module. This module has been deployed to a very large market participant and is in test. After the successful parallel test we will provide a further update.

Today, Power Settlements released the new Scheduling Module to its SettleCore system for market participants. The use of the Scheduling Module by SettleCore users enables our customers to send schedules and bids directly to SIBR without having to manually enter or edit data in the CAISO’s SIBR scheduling system. This fully integrated module compliments the existing SettleCore back-office features with the addition of automated scheduling features that are required by the front-office schedulers and traders that transact in the CAISO markets. The Scheduling Module, which is an optional module, includes the screen entry by the users in the SettleCore system, followed by SettleCore’s auto-submission to the SIBR API for all self-schedules and bids for energy and ancillary services, as well as inter-SC trades of APN, physical, ancillary service, and IFM uplift trades. Additionally, this module enables the users to download their SIBR messages into SettleCore to see the status of their records in SIBR, as well as any SIBR auto-generated warning or error messages.

Today, Power Settlements completed its 7th installation of its software products for CAISO market participants. Three companies have licensed the SettleCore – Settlements Analyzer module, and another four companies have licensed the entire SettleCore shadow settlement system. The SettleCore – Settlements Analyzer module is used by market participants to easily review their CAISO SaMC files. The market participants which have licensed the full SettleCore shadow settlement system, require market interface functionality to download all of their CAISO data and for performing shadow settlements and dispute identification. Today, the 20th CAISO market participant downloaded the free trial version of the Settlements Analyzer. The 30-day free trial version of the Settlements Analyzer is used by CAISO scheduling coordinators to 1) easily view and drill-down into the SaMC XML files, 2) use the built-in SaMC charge code training functionality, and 3) export the SaMC data to Excel. This customer already has a shadow settlement system, and was not in need of one. They also particularly liked the built-in pivot table functionality. Thus, they selected the server-client version of the Settlements Analyzer, which was installed within just one day. Today, Power Settlements completed the first implementation of the SettleCore system. One of our customers selected our “fixed fee SettleCore shadow settlement service” (see the brochure on our website). In this service, we installed the SettleCore system, which includes the Settlements Analyzer, the ISO Downloader, and the Shadow Settlement Dispute modules. SettleCore was installed onsite for the client, and then we remotely operate the system for them, to ensure that all data is loaded, shadow settlements processed, and their reports were generated and saved to their network. Power Settlements performs this service on a daily basis, in order to enable the client’s analysts to focus on data analysis rather than on operating the system.
